GP Practice Management Ireland is the country's original and free online resource for Practice Managers. The website provides up-to-date news, information and resources to help practices run smoothly and efficiently.
Our Story
This site evolved from practice managers nationally acknowledging the lack of support in their daily role. Part of what we do as practice managers is to always “fix” the issue or problem. In 2019 a group of practice managers then reached out to their peers to develop an information sharing support for PMs, Our group developed in 2019, we shared lots of helpful and useful information to each other on a daily basis. We then decided to host and run our very first practice management conference in February 2020. From here it was agreed that we needed a wider platform in the format of this website to share information and advice, and that’s when practicemanagement.ie was developed.
Covid took over the week after our conference! Its here that we really got to see the incredible and invaluable support group we had developed. The speed of information sharing the speed that help was available and provided with no cost to anyone other than doing what we do best.

I have been working in GP Practice management for over 20 years, managing several practices in the Dublin area. I’ve been at my current practice for the last 16 years.
When I started out in this field there was nowhere for practice managers to turn for help, knowledge or advice, other than the GPs they worked with. Each practice had different systems and structures in place, guarding their own information and practice issues so many managers felt isolated and alone in their daily role.
I always knew the absolute need for a greater platform to help managers and those responsible for running the practice.
Back in early 2000s, along with some other practice managers, we put together the ‘Practice Managers handbook’ for the HSE.
Each time I attended our annual meetings & gatherings I was aware there was a huge need for both GPs and managers to have a platform to share and help each other.
Whilst working as a Full-Time Practice Manager I’ve achieved a great amount both personally and also for the practice. In 2003 I returned to college and achieved my BSc in Health Service Management, along with marriage and three busy kids!! I feel the practice is my 4th child … but not always in that order!
Being part of an incredible group of managers that inspired this website, we decided back in 2019 to develop a website to share all our experiences, knowledge and information, we now take it nationally
As a Dubliner I love the phrase “you can share an egg” and I think that this is very reflective of my personality and professional role. Yes, you can share an egg and this website is my egg.
